Contemporary art inspires Contemporary movement in our upcoming dance performance, “Health and Healing”. Inspired by our current exhibit, “One New Day” a solo show by artist Megan Hildebrandt, dancers will use movement to explore much of the same themes that the artist explored in her work.
DANCE Lansing: The Community Dance Project brings Contemporary movement to MICA Gallery monthly. This organization creates opportunities for the community experience Contemporary movement in an accessible way while creating opportunities for area choreographers and dancers to perform.
The foundation of this collaboration is a partnership between Happendance and Lansing Community College Performing Arts. Associates include Everett High School Dance Program, Fusion Dance Center, Greater Lansing Academy of Dance, MICA, Michigan State University Department of Theatre, and MSU Orchesis Dance.
