Seeing Rectangular | A photography exhibit by Hal Gould

Please join us at MICA Gallery to celebrate the photography of Hal Gould, a photographer and photojournalist.

Gould will be exhibiting bodies of work that explore aging, prison life and musicians that traveled and performed here in the Lansing area. Gould has a lifetime of experience as a photographer and journalist, his work tells a story through portraiture. Gould also develops his own film using various techniques to tell the story of the subject.

The photo essays that will be included in this show are:

“On the Streets” – homeless people in Tucson Az.

“Florence State Prison” – a federal /state prison in Florence Az. – also where German U-Boat crews were kept during WWII and the movie “Stir Crazy” with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder was filmed.

“Squatters Camp” in Senora ,Mexico

“The Entertainers”

“Ladies of the Manor” – a nursing home in Northville Mich.

This opening reception is part of the Arts Council of Greater Lansing‘s Arts Night Out. The artist will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served.

A Bout Face | Megan Foldenhauer

A Bout Face is a solo exhibit by artist Megan Foldenhauer, PHD. Foldenhauer is an Ann Arbor based artist, a medical illustrator and a member of the Ann Arbor Derby Dimes Roller Derby team. The artist uses a carbon dust drawing technique to create hyperrealistic portraits. The artists exceptional understanding of the human anatomy is apparent in these portraits.

A Bout Face explores the world of Roller Derby and the women who participate in this sport. The portraits are a visual storytelling of the women who reside in this world who ranging from professionals, students, Mothers, housewives, college professors and more.
